IF YOU HAVEN’T YET APPLIED TO THAT PROGRAM THEN CLICK HERE FIRST: RETURNING HOPE TO RETURNING CITIZENS AND READ THE INFO AND FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO APPLY. TO QUALIFY FOR THIS PROGRAM:

If you are seeking help with first month rent and security deposit, then we can usually go 50/50, up to a maximum of $1000.00 from us.  Our maximum for back rent is $800 though it is hard for us to grant back rent request if we have previously paid your move in costs.

DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU PRESENTLY HAVE EVERYTHING OWED ABOVE OUR MAXIMUM.

THE LEASE MUST BE IN YOUR NAME.

1.

Past due rent or first month's rent and security deposit:

You must have ongoing income at the present time from employment or disability. Your current income must be enough to cover future rent and all you other monthly expenses.  Your name must be on the lease.

Your job cannot be through a staffing agency or temp service. That job may turn into a permanent position, which is great and we hope to help when the time comes you become a permanent employee.

2.

If you are moving and need assistance on finding a place then let us know and we can provide our Housing Resource Guide, which has leads on rentals etc. It is not difficult to find a place to rent.

3.

If you are moving, please do not apply until you have been approved by the landlord or property management company as a tenant and you are ready to move in except you need assistance with move in costs.

4.

If you are to receive rental assistance (i.e. Section 8) , please do not apply until such time as the residence has been approved by the resource that will be providing you rental assistance. Only apply after the residence has passed inspection.

Please be aware that a landlord is legally allowed to charge you for fist month rent and a security deposit up to 1.5 times rent. They are not allowed to charge for first AND last month rent and a security deposit.

5.

6.

Do not seek our assistance for move in costs until you have everything owed above our maximum help of $1000 and have at least two weeks of pay stubs from your current employment. As mentioned, we can usually go 50/50 with you up to our max of $1000.00. Similarly, don’t apply for back rent assistance unless you currently have all the money you owe above our maximum for back rent of $800.00.

7.

Again, we cannot become involved unless with our help the balance owed will be zero.  Also, if you are self employed we will need to see the prior two months of bank statements to establish income and ability to pay rent.

8.

There can't be an arrangement of a payment plan with the landlord for anything else owed as the balance must get to zero with our payment.

9.

Your current utility bills (water, electricity, gas) and your property tax bill if you own your home, must be up to date. Also, if it is nearer to the end of the current month, we may require you to pay rent for upcoming month before we can help with any back rent.

10.

If you’re self-employed or an independent contractor/1099 employee, you must have documentation of your prior two months of income  from your job via checks, Venmo, Paypal etc. You also must document that you are paying quarterly estimated income tax estimates as required by the IRS. A minimum of at least the prior quarter must be documented as having been paid.

If you meet the above requirements for assistance then please let Bob know by text or email and he will provide you the Application for this program.

If you have any questions then just email at heretohelpfoundation@icloud.com

We look forward to doing all we can to assist you.
